RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT

MORTEHOE, NORTH DEVON
2002 - 2005

The site of the development was formerly occupied by the Rockham Bay Hotel, an existing three-storey building of traditional construction.  The existing floors were set at different levels throughout the building and to meet future trends in the Hotel/Leisure industry and to comply with the Disability Discrimination Act, the owners were of the view that it was uneconomic to invest significant sums of money on upgrading and improving the Hotel.  As a result, the owners sought alternative uses for the site.

Planning permission for a modern three storey building with large feature windows to take advantage of the sea views for six two bed apartments and four three bed apartments was achieved.  Construction was completed in 2005.
