The British Red Cross were located in a former Territorial Army building within the centre of Exeter, which was not suited to their needs and requirements. It was proposed that a new purpose built headquarters building would be required to be in close proximity to the M5 motorway and with good links to the southwest. A site was established and Trevor J Spurway (Architect) Ltd were appointed to design the new headquarters building and to oversee the project throughout the construction period. The building was delivered to programme and budget.
