The proposed works were situated within the Conservation area of Taunton, the existing red brick Georgian flat fronted 2½ storey mid terrace building with glazed shop display windows and access door to the ground was divided into 2 small retail units. Trevor J Spurway (Architect) Ltd were commissioned to combine the two ground floor units into one larger retail space with a new shop frontage display area and a single central access arrangement for Sassi Holford’s Bridal Boutique.
A new ground floor glazed shop front, entrance door and ground floor arrangement provided better access and an improved display area in a style that was complimentary to the existing street scene together with a small single storey replacement extension to the rear which provided additional space and a staff W.C. facility.
The building was delivered to programme and to budget.
